Creative Glitter Makeup Ideas to Try Yourself

If you don’t know by now… we absolutely LOVE glitter! We don’t think there’s anything better than having a few pots of glitter and a mirror, experimenting with different styles, colour combinations and just having fun!
We are professional glitter makeup artists, which can take lots of time and practice to perfect, but there are simple and creative glitter makeup ideas that you can try at home that are easy to do and look great every time. Here are our top creative glitter makeup ideas to try yourself...
Rainbow glitter is as fabulous as it sounds and was an absolute hit over pride weekend! All you need for this trick is all of the colours from the rainbow (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet), but you can swap the yellows for golds, silvers and the violet for pink and it looks just as good!
We recommend doing this layer by layer and really taking your time during the application process. Instead of using your fingers to apply, we recommend getting a long (maybe old) foundation brush to apply, at this helps to prevent any unwanted mess.
If you’re not too confident with this, try practising on your arm before you put it on your face and before you know it you will look like a sparkly rainbow pro! This is perfect for festivals, parties and everything in between!
Glitter collar bones
If you’re into a more understated and subtle glitter look, then glitter collar bones are the perfect option for you. This is one of the easiest glitter applications that you will have and absolutely blows highlighter collar bones out of the water!
All you need is your favourite glitter or dazzle dust, a foundation/ applicator brush and some adhesive gel to set this in place. If you’re in a hurry at a festival, rushing to see your favourite act, then this is a great way to still feel all sparkly. It takes minutes to apply and seconds to perfect, so… what are you waiting for?
Applying glitter to your eyelid can be a little bit messy and can sometimes get into your eyes, so we would recommend leaving this to the MUAs! Instead, why not try applying a few specs of chunky glitter to the inner corner of your eye, where a little dab of highlighter usually goes.
This will help you to achieve a subtle, yet stunning eye makeup finish. This pairs really well with lots of eyeshadow, eyeliner, perfectly pencilled brows and false lashes! If you want to switch up your makeup from time to time, then this is great for a night out on the town.
