Makeup On The Go: Beauty Tips For When You're Running Late
Posted on January 20 2020
In today’s fast-paced way of life, we’re all looking for time-saving tips and tricks, but when it comes to our makeup and beauty, most people aren’t ready to make changes to the routine they do every day.
But sometimes there are days where traffic is particularly bad or we oversleep, meaning that we don’t always have the time we’d like to get ready for the day ahead. Perfecting your makeup on the go is a true skill, as you want it to be as good as when you have hours to get ready.
If you want to feel confident in applying your makeup, but are sometimes short on time then here are some beauty tips so that you can perfect beauty and makeup on the go - no matter how much time you have.
Remove your makeup before bed
Going to bed with a face full of makeup is perhaps one of the worst things you can do when it comes to skincare and time. If you don’t cleanse and remove makeup properly, then the residue will clog pores, cause breakouts and leave dead skin cells behind.
The next morning, you will have to spend perhaps more time removing your makeup, which can cost you time when you’re running late and need to apply makeup on the go. Instead, spend 5 minutes in the evenings before you go to bed taking your makeup off, toning and moisturising. You’ll find that your makeup goes on much easier and your skin is a lot smoother when you take the time to set up a proper skincare routine.
Use combo products
When you’re really pushed for time and need to apply makeup on the go, then combination cosmetic products are a true lifesaver. Lipstick which doubles up as a blusher is a great time saving hack, but be sure that the colour works well for both purposes. You want something which is both creamy and opaque, perhaps with a slight gold hint in order to brighten the face.
Tinted moisturiser is a great cosmetic product when you’re running late and, when you need to apply makeup on the go, can save a good chunk of your time. Simply apply as you would a moisturiser, blend slightly around your forehead, jawline and nose and apply pressed powder as normal.
Dry shampoo is your new best friend
Dry shampoo comes highly recommended by many beauty specialists. When you don’t have time to wash and dry your hair in the mornings, you can instantly refresh it with a few sprays of dry shampoo as well as give it some much-needed texture if you plan on styling it. Long gone are the days of spraying heavy white residue on your scalp, as you can now get colour specific ones to suit your hair colour and which smell great!
Use an eyebrow pencil
You might think that an eyebrow pencil requires more work, especially when you need to apply makeup on the go, but not only are they super quick and easy to use, they also help to provide definition and shape where you might be missing it. Neat and tidy eyebrows make a huge difference when it comes to pulling your look together in a hurry.
