6 Steps To Perfecting The Gold Eye Look

Gold - also known as the colour of luxury and royalty. Whether worn on a crown, around the neck of a royal or swept across your eyelids, gold is a colour which is bold enough to make a huge statement. By incorporating this colour into your eye makeup looks, it will not only make your eyes pop, but can be worn from day to night, dressed up or down.
Gold is the ultimate shade if you want to stand out or add a little shimmer to your day to day wardrobe. It is a great colour to wear throughout the seasons and can be combined with a number of different colours and shades to create to perfect look. If you’re looking to perfect the gold eye look, then here are 6 steps you can take to do so.
Step One: Prime Your Eyelids
Use your foundation primer or an eyeshadow primer to ensure that your eyelids are smooth and prepped for the colour. This is a vital step, as it helps your eye makeup last for a longer period of time and prevents it from creasing, smudging or dusting off if you are using a powder product for your gold eye look.
Step Two: Apply Your Base Colour
Apply your chosen base shade or colour all over your eyelid, as well as a little above your eyes. This should work as a transition shade for your golden eye look, so that there are no harsh lines created between your gold eyeshadow and your skin tone.
Step Three: Apply Your Eyeshadow
This is where the main star of the show is applied to create your perfect gold eye look. Apply your gold eyeshadow with a small powder brush to ensure maximum coverage and be sure to pack it on both on the inside and centre of the eyelid. Blend it out as you get to the crease to create a softer finish.
Step Four: Add A Dark Brown Shade
Apply a dark brown shade to the outer corner of your eye and blend it away to the crease of your eyelid. If you feel like there isn’t enough gold eyeshadow to create a dramatic gold eye look, then apply some more gold eyeshadow to the centre of your eyelid. Don’t forget to add some gold eyeshadow onto the bottom lashline, too.
Step Five: Conceal The Fallout Area
At this step, you might notice that there is a lot of fallout from the eyeshadow. This can be easily fixed with the help of concealer. Simply conceal the area where there is heavy fallout and blend it outwards.
Step Six: Add Eyeliner and Mascara
If you want to create a dramatic gold eye look, then this step is vital. Use a black liquid or gel eyeliner to create a winged line on your eyelid and apply kohl or kajal eyeliner on your upper and lower lash lines for an intense look. Don’t forget to smudge out the bottom lash line to soften your look and finish off the look with a coating of mascara.
